The Laundry Fairy is a Hippy

Yesterday my girlfriend and I were catching up on some laundry that we’d been too lazy to do during the week. We’d filled up two dryers with our wet clothes, plunked in our dollars, and took off back into the apartment to play some Yahtzee. When we went back a little over an hour-and-a-half later, to our suprise, we discovered that all of our laundry was now taken out of the dryer and left on the table for us. If you’ve ever used a communial laundry room you know that this is normal practice, but when we walked in to get our dried goods we found that all of our clothes (undergarments, socks and t-shirts alike) were separated, sorted, and neatly folded into individual piles. It was as if the Laundy Fairy had paid us a visit!

There are about 8 units in our apartment-style complex, so we really have no way of finding out who did this good deed. I did, however, decide to open the dryer that our garments had once occupied and found a number of tie-dye shirts and pants. Not only is there Laundry Fairy, but she’s a hippy too.

Well I don’t know if I’ll ever get to see the Laundry Fairy, but if you happen to read this: Thanks for hooking us up with the folding, but please leave it up to us next time. I’d feel much more comfortable knowing I’m the only one handling my own underwear.

I’ve never let my GF do my laundry for exactly that reason, I’m not really down with someone else handling my underwear.

I do however know guys from residence who would go down, drop all their clothes in the washing machine, leave, and return the next day to dry folded laundry (laundry machines and driers were free in dorms). Aparently bored girls doing their own laundry passed the time by folding their stuff.
